Highlights
🇯🇵 Nikkei on record run after Takaichi victory
The Nikkei jumps on new record high. The rally was driven by the victory of Sanae Takaichi, the new LDP chairwoman, who is seen as a supporter of loose fiscal and monetary policy and aims to stimulate economic growth.
The yen fell more than 1% to 149.2 per U.S. dollar, while Nikkei futures rose sharply. Analysts expect the new government to push the Bank of Japan toward a continued expansionary stance, accompanied by higher public spending and a steeper yield curve.
